The Mill is a former Mill Cottage (dated 1651) which occupies a unique position within the Lake District National Park, immediately at the foot of the mountains, in grounds bounded by a trout stream and waterfall and while all the recreational facilities of the park are readily at hand, this particular situation is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing holiday 'away from it all'.

All the comfortable and cosy bedrooms are individually decorated. Most have private bathrooms and all have colour T.V A cheery open log fire in the beamed main lounge welcomes guests each evening. There is a separate small reading room and sun lounge. The house is enhanced by many original paintings and antiques. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Dinner is the highlight of the day where home-made soups, freshly baked bread and a mouth-watering range of puddings are featured alongside main courses which include vegetarian dishes as well as game, fish and lamb. A personally chosen speciality wine list is available to compliment the food.
